Light Up the Night 2014

by | Mar 17, 2014 | Light Up the Night News

The fourth annual Light Up the Night beach walk took place on Saturday, March 15th. Participants gathered at Royal Palms and walked by an (almost) full moon to the Ritz Carlton and back. They carried balloons with lights inside and wore glow-in-the-dark tee shirts, necklaces, and bracelets…some of the latter used as dog collars for accompanying pets.

The Breast Cancer Foundation registered close to 200 people for the walk, which has become a popular and anticipated event for many supporters. Breast cancer patients, survivors, friends and family enjoy a leisurely stroll together (it is not a race) but many participants simply want to help raise funds to support their community.

Event sponsors were CTMH, Dart, and Silver Wheaton.

The Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman created a beautiful turnaround area with a pink cabana, torches, pink mocktails, and macaroons!

In addition to providing a gathering place and registration area for the Light Up The Night event, the Royal Palms offered a discount on food and a special cocktail price to participants.

The main raffle prize was a Makeover Package generously donated by Anytime Fitness, Sand Angels, and Picture This. Additional prizes were kindly donated by The Cabana and The Rack.

The event raised approx $5k and will be used to aid local breast cancer victims in need of financial support.

We hope that everybody had an enjoyable evening and look forward to Light Up the Night 2015…whenever it’s a full moon in March!
